Experiences
Every experience here is optional.
Some days invite making, movement or time on the water; others are left unplanned. There is no itinerary to follow and nowhere you need to be. Choose what draws you in—or do very little at all.
Hosted experiences will be introduced gradually following our January 2027 opening and offered on selected dates by prior arrangement. Further details will be shared as each experience becomes available.
Creative Practice
Creative workshops will be introduced following opening and offered on selected dates by prior arrangement.
Discover the materials of Raymond Island through hands-on creative workshops inspired by the surrounding landscape. Explore natural fibres, clay and found objects while learning simple techniques that encourage observation, experimentation and making.
You’ll leave with new skills, a fresh perspective and, often, something made by hand.
No experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
“Every woven piece begins its journey long before the first strand is gathered—through walking, recording, collecting and learning from the landscape.”
Morning Yoga
Morning yoga will be introduced following opening and offered on selected dates.
On selected dates, a gentle slow-flow yoga session can be arranged for studio guests on the lawn overlooking Lake King. Suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike, the session offers time to move and breathe before the day begins. In cool or unsettled weather, the practice moves indoors.
Afterwards, have breakfast on the deck or wander along the foreshore—the rest of the morning is yours.
Kayaking
Kayaking will be introduced following opening and will remain subject to weather and water conditions.
Launch directly from the foreshore and paddle past reed beds and quiet stretches of Lake King. Mornings are often glassy, while evenings bring changing light across the water.
Wildlife at Marlwood
At Marlwood, wildlife is part of the daily rhythm of the property. Kangaroos graze with their joeys beneath the eucalypts, koalas rest in the branches, echidnas nose through the leaf litter and tiny wrens dart between the shrubs. Across Lake King, black swans drift past, pelicans circle overhead and other waterbirds gather on the fallen branches each morning.
These moments cannot be scheduled; they arrive in their own time, often when you stop looking and simply watch.
